My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

Has anyone seen this show? I used to be forced to watch it when I was nannying Charlee because she loved it, and that was understandable seeing as she was a 9 year old girl... But recently, a lot of teenage boys and girls have been getting into the show and even starting to become obsessive. Actual teenage boys walking the halls of my High School singing the songs from this show and talking about which pony is the best pony. Now, I'm not here to judge. People can do what they want with their free time. I'm just not sure I get it. I mean, I guess that it could be a good thing for some guys to get a little more sensitivity training from watching such a show religiously, but it just a little odd, don't you think? Anyone have any comments on this topic? I mean, I'm sure some of you that are mothers watch it with your children. What do you guys think of the show? Is this obsession a good thing or a bad thing?

What A long Time It's Been

It's been a long time sense I've posted here and I apologize to all my readers, friends and followers for the absence. I've had a pretty busy couple of months filled with annoying drama that I really never wanted to get into in the first place and new discoveries. Summer's almost over and I'm about to start my Junior Year. I can still remember my Freshman year. It seems like it was just days -maybe weeks, ago. It's weird thinking I've know my best friend Lillee for only 2 years. But within these two years, we've gotten very close and I can't imagine my life without her. She's always been there for me and normally is the only one I can go to when I really need someone. I know she's got her opinion's about my things, and she voices them. Normally, she's always right and I -very stupidly- try to do things anyway even though they always end the way she says their going to and I would have been able to save myself a lot of pain if I had listened to her.

It's been a pretty intense summer. I found out that I was allergic to the Sun, so I'm stuck inside most of the time and whenever I go outside I have to wear a lot of sunscreen and wear cloths that cover all skin. This is a huge difference seeing as I used to wear mostly tank tops and dresses. I can still wear them, just under my sun cloths and when I'm inside a building away from the sun. I've also spent a lot of time on my photography this summer. I did a Senior Photo shoot for one of my best friends, James. And I've taken a lot of photos of my nieces and nephews when they're over or when I get to see them. Babies are my favorite topic.

Also, like most of the world, I've been sucked into the Olympics and nearly fallen in love with Ryan Lochte. He's adorable. My favorite events were Gymnastics and Diving just because they are both so amazing to watch. I wanted to watch Synchronized Swimming, but I wasn't able to. I'm not sure why, it was just never on when I had the time to watch.

To close this post with letting everyone know I'm going to change the theme and background of this blog and going to re-start my swap sponsors. If you want to swap with me, please email me at alishastar1234@gmail.com with "Swap" in the Subject box.

Playing Catch Up

I know... I'm a bad blogger. It's been like 3 weeks sense i've posted and I am truly sorry...  I just have kind of lost my muse to blog at the current time, however, I am confident that I shall get it back before to long. So here I am, playing catch up so you all know what's going on in the crazy life of Alisha.

1) I don't know if I've mentioned this before... but i'm kind of obsessed with Team StarKid. They did AVPM/S, Starship, Me and My Dick, and Holy Musical B@man. Anyway, I've seen them live and they'r even better in person. They're also amazing people and I hope to be like them one day.

2) StarKid has inspired me and some friends to write and produce our own things this summer. More information to come.

3) I no longer work at my dad's shop because I hated it and now I'm just living on a budget... ekk.

4) Sophmore year is just about over, and I leave to Alaska soon, which means this blog has been up for almost a year :)

5) I am once again in a relationship... with the same guy from the last two times... yep.

Anyway, more news to come as soon as possible.

Hail Poetry

Recently, my life has been writing and preforming Poetry. Last Saturday for Speech and Debate I performed my Poetry for 4 judges and will find out where I placed in a few hours (though it wasn't in the top three). And just last night a few friends and I competed at our school's 8th annual Poetry Slam. I didn't make it very far, but it was still fun. And to me, it's not about winning, it's about enjoying what you love to do, which for me is performing Poetry.

Oregon Food Bank

Yesterday I went on a class trip to the Oregon Food Bank with my Health Class. I figured it would be super boring: having to scoop and bag beans and all. But actually, it was a blast. we worked for an hour and a half and made 5,700 meals for people who were going hungry in Oregon. It felt really great to be able to help :)

Obviously I'm the one with the camera case... I carry it everywhere.

Stress

This week we have been forecasting for our classes next year. We're allowed to take 7 and maybe 8 classes. But due to AVID, i have to take at least 1 AP class. This isn't so hard, but it is when you want to take a challenging class load without being overwhelmed. I've spent all week with my course guide looking for classes I want that won't overwhelm me. I've got to take me core English, US history and Science, but after that i have 5 empty spaces to fill with the right classes. this time of year always stresses me out.

My Theory of Love

“I have felt it and I have lived it, now it leaves me here. Love is the ultimate pain and joy, without it you die, with it you perish” -Christopher S. Drew

Love is definitely not something we, can live without. Well, that’s my opinion at least. Without your friends or your family, what would become of you? I speak from experience like many before me when I saw love really is a roller-coaster ride; taking you up and down and off into a million different directions. But when the ride stops, you never want to get off.

Loving and Liking people are both important to us, but in their own ways. Could there even be love without like? In most cases, liking someone often leads to loving them. They say best friends make the best lovers; I would agree to that...to an extent. Sure, couples should share common interests, but they shouldn’t have to like ALL the same things. Differences make us unique. Liking different things makes you more open to talking about new things and stops the relationship from growing dry and boring. What I’m trying to say, is that being different opens you up to liking more/different people, which can always lead to love.

“Sometimes Love isn’t fireworks...sometimes love just comes softly” -Sarah Grahm (Love Comes Softly)

I’ll admit, I do believe in love at first sight, but I also believe that’s not often the case. Sometimes, love sprouts up when you don’t realize it and blooms slowly until you don’t even know when it happened. The movie Love Comes Softly is an example of this theory because it’s about a woman who looses her husband and has no choice but to marry a man to survive. In the end, she realizes she has fallen in love with him through the little things that happen that you would never think could lead to love. In my opinion, that’s how you know Love is real. When it’s not forced, but, when it just grows.

Love is a word which is hard to define. Everyone has their own idea of what love is and means and even feels like. Love feels different for each and every person you feel it for; each person gets their own special feeling. For example; you may love your mom in a different ways then you love your romantic partner, but that’s not only how I mean it. Some people say, “I know I love him, this is how it felt the last time.” In my Theory of Love, if this is the case, then it’s not love you feel. I feel I personally cannot define love because each person you fall into true love with will have a different definition, a different feeling, which you’ve never felt before.

Love is a terribly great thing which comes and goes into and out of our lives whenever it chooses too. At times, we may hate it, but even as we hate it, we’re craving it. Love may end up hurting: the end of a relationship or the death of a loved one. However, as long as we have people we love and who love us, we can always make it through.

“Baby you’re not alone, because you’re here with me. And nothings ever going to bring us down, because nothing can keep me from loving you and you know it’s true. It don’t matter what’ll come to be, you know our love is all we need, to make it through” -Darren Kriss (AVPM Starkid Productions)

Bad Day :(

Normally, I'm not one to complain much when I have bad days, I normally keep my feelings bottled up and use the emotion in my stories I write...unless it's really bad. Today hasn't been the worst day I've ever had, but it's totally on the Top Ten list for the school year so far. I went to bed last night with a headache, and woke up with an even worse headache. I had to walk to school in the cold with Charlee who insisted the frost on the ground was really snow and was very loud about it. And then one of my friends decided to take something i said way to literial and got upset with me when infact i was just joking and anyone else would have gotten the joke... if you (and you know who you are) are reading this, I'm sorry for ranting about you, but sometimes when you say you're having a worse time then someone else, maybe you should have them explain their situation before you assume. (and we all know what they say about people assuming things)

Back into ranting about my day, on the way to my first period of today (English), I fell really hard while walking up the stairs infront of a lot of people. i hurt my right Knee very bad to the point where it's already givven out on me twice today and i banged my head on the floor to the point where I'm starting to doubt if my headache will ever go away.

It's been one of those days where i just want to go home right away and curl up under my very soft pink blanket that i found hidden under the stairs and sleep until tomorrow. *sighs*

Pirates Of Penzance

GWSH was an amazing show and I am so proud of all m very talented friends who put it on. Next week are auditions for the Winter Musical, Pirates of Penzance :) The reason that I am so excited for this is becasue i get to be in this play. i'm not exactally sure which part I will get. I think playing Ruth would be fun but i think honestly i'd rather just be one of the daughters, but one with a name, like Edith or Kate. Sure, I'm not the best singer... but i'm not terrible, and I'm comfortible singing infront of people so that should count for something, right? Wish me luck. :D

Plans for the Future

"The Future is a big place..."

This is very true, yet i feel mine creeping up on me every day. each day i find myself wondering about my future, how will i end up? what will become of me? Is college something i even want to concider or do i want to take another path? I have no idea what is ahead of me, it seems on good days, I can't wait to get into college and have the freedom, I'm graduating early becasue even my parents can see public school is not right for me. Last night I think we seriously talked about home schooling (i say i think becasue sometimes when i'm serious, i can't tell that they're not). if i lived with my grandma in Alaska, i'd be home schooled. I'd have a better time trying to graduate early if i were.

In my Avid class, we are doing carrer research, i don't know what to look up. I love photography and it pays well enough, but can i see myself doing it for my whole life? what about writing? Sure, i write everyday and I'm flawless at grammer (When i'm not ranting on my blog :P) but do i want people to read my writing? do i want to publish books or write for a newspaper?

Oh the confusion!!

Read Day

As much as I love Journalism... I really hate having to write stories that aren't interesteing to me. Currently i'm writing a news peice about the Read Day that just happened yesterday on October 26th 2011. It was a day for students to go to the library -ditch first and third period- and lay around on couches and read for like 3 hours. It sounds cool, and i was going to go, but writing about something that was so uneventful and quiet is really hard. :( I'll post the story once i finish...
