NaNoWriMo

November first marks the first day of National Novel Writing Month. This is the first year that I'm daring to participate. Have I ever written a novel before? Well... no. Not fully. I suppose that's not true... When I was in grade 6 I wrote a 60 page story about a fairy boarding school. However, there was no plot and the writing is horrendous. I've written countless stories and books since then, but I've never written and completed a full novel. I have the same problem every time that I start a novel. I can write all the way up to the climax no problem, but from there, I am stuck. I never know how to end it. What's a good way to end a novel? Everything seems to cheesy. I don't want to leave anything untouched, but at the same time, I don't want to make the ending into a "laundry list" of endings all raveling together for every character. This will be something that I'll have to get over if I plan to be at all successful during November.

I haven't even came up with a decent plot yet. I have no idea what I want to write. My ideas range from a magical school (how original, right?) to life on the Prairie during the days of traveling on the wagon train along the Oregon Trail and settling down into a life of living off of the land. No characters. No plot. No setting. I'm not at all prepared for this challenge.

Oh what am I getting myself into?

Am I alone in this? Or is anyone else taking the challenge along with me?

What a long, strange year it's been

I'm back from the blogging dead. For now at least.

I've been so busy with so many different things this year that blogging has had to take a back seat, unfortunately, vlogging has as well- I haven't made a video sense January. Ugh! I plan on getting back into both Vlogging and it's written equivalent as the school year ends and the summer begins. And man, is this going to be a summer to document.

First, I'll be cooking my way through a cookbook with my lovely sister, Ally, whom you guys haven't heard much about, but probably will see a lot in pictures and videos that will come with the awesome recipes and reviews of recipes that we make.

Next, I'm producing a Zombie film called Madness In The Making about a group of teenagers trying to survive the Zombie apocalypse that was created due to a nuclear experiment gone wrong- shows you the danger of science, doesn't it? I'm co-writing the script with my friend Katana, and at the moment it seems to be mostly drama, but I'm hoping to find a way to twist it into a more action-packed mini-movie. I'll keep you all updated on the Madness that goes on on-set and back stage.

I'll also be taking pictures for the Madison Football team all summer, which should prove to be a very interesting series of events. I've already been to quite a few practices and those have been a good time. I'm hoping to meet more of the guys on the team and maybe make a few new friends, besides the guy filming with me, my friend of two years, Seth.

Because of all this craziness and the fact that I'll be working most of the summer (either at the Lawn Mower shop or at a real job) I'm probably not going to have time to go to Alaska this summer. Which is a total bummer. But I know I'll be going back soon - I may even be going to college up there in the fall of 2014 where I would study Culinary arts (That depends on how the cook book challenge turns out this summer.)

Lots of love to all my fellow bloggers, I'll try my best to get reconnected to everyone. Email me at alishastar1234@gmail.com if you want to link up/swap buttons with me :)

It's been a while

Hi loves.

So sorry its been months sense I've posted on this blog. I've had so much going on lately from working up to becoming a Youtube Partner to another play to getting ready to apply to colleges. It's been a long hard road over these past few months but I'm glad to be right in the middle of it. And I'm glad to get back into blogging at this important time of my life to share this wonderful and stressful college experience with you all.

I've been doing semi-regular videos on youtube, you can find the link to my channel on my last post. If you want to watch my videos and maybe want to comment of subscribe, feel free. Also, if any of you lovely people do youtube and want more people to be friends with and collaberate and such with, feel free to let me know :)

I'm taking a very challenging course load this semester and it'll only be worse for next semester where I take 6 of the same classes and add one more history class. I ever have classes on Staurday morning which makes it really hard for me to keep up with my job; luckly, I work for my dad, so I won't get fired.

As far as University is concerned, I'm pretty ready to go. Looks like I'll be studying at Oregon State University where I am going to major in Political Science (International Relations) and double minor in Pre-Law and History (But one of those is still up in the air to be replaced with education? -Ugh!)

My life right now is all about my classes and making sure I stay as on top of all my work and studying as I physicaly can. I will try to post more on this blog because I've given it to a couple of universities as a way to see my personality and then realized that it's not as up-to-date on the latest in the life of Alisha.

Much Love from the state of constant rain

Labor Day Weekend

On big summer holidays such as Mamorial day, 4th of July and Labor Day, my family heads up to our beach property up in Long Beach Washington. This last weekend, I along with my mom, dad and my friend Brianna went up and had a fun (but, painful for me- due to discovering more about my sun allergy {which, by the way, I just realized I never told y'all about... I have a sun allergy.}), lazy and a uncomfortible weekend. Here are some of my pictures from the weekend.

This was my second wedding shoot and it was for my cousin Marie and her new husband, Charlie. They had 3 kids together, she had one from a previous marriage and he had 3. (one of his sons is missing in the picture). It was a beautiful family wedding even though they kept saying it was a 'redneck wedding' which fit pretty well.
Congratulations!!

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

Has anyone seen this show? I used to be forced to watch it when I was nannying Charlee because she loved it, and that was understandable seeing as she was a 9 year old girl... But recently, a lot of teenage boys and girls have been getting into the show and even starting to become obsessive. Actual teenage boys walking the halls of my High School singing the songs from this show and talking about which pony is the best pony. Now, I'm not here to judge. People can do what they want with their free time. I'm just not sure I get it. I mean, I guess that it could be a good thing for some guys to get a little more sensitivity training from watching such a show religiously, but it just a little odd, don't you think? Anyone have any comments on this topic? I mean, I'm sure some of you that are mothers watch it with your children. What do you guys think of the show? Is this obsession a good thing or a bad thing?

Blogging Funk

This is an interesting phrase that I stole from Whitney at Everything Happens For A Reason. It reminded me of writers block, which I get all the time and especially now sense I am trying to write a Screen Play (Script) based on something else and I have to make sure what's said in the something else makes it into the script. It's demanding work but it's also very fun at the same time.

Anyway, back on topic. I saw on Whitney's blog that she was opening the floor for requests and questions. This seemed like a great ideas for me as well! If anyone has any ideas or questions or comments or anything involving me or my blog, please comment here or email me at alishastar1234@gmail.com, I am always looking for guest posts and would love to guest post on your blog as well. If you're part of a weekly challenge such as Tuesday Ten or Wordless Wednesday that you think I would enjoy, please link it to me. I'm trying to get out of my funk :)

Much Love to my blogging sisters (and brothers)
